What a great time I had with these guys!! Palm trees and sandy beaches are much more familiar to them than snow and chilly weather so I appreciate them going along with my wintery ideas :)

These days, especially before Christmas, have been so busy.  It’s so nice to have a morning where we don’t have to go anywhere.  Olivia loves teaching Dawson new things, and he just wants to do what she’s doing~ perfect!! :) 5 minutes of peace… until she wants the colour he has…

Last year an amazing photographer in Philadelphia made a single blog post that sparked a huge “giving” movement.  Participating photographers of Giving is Awesome donated $500,000 worth of custom photography experiences and art to deserving people and families.  This year the goal is to make it to the 1 millon $$ mark!

I am super excited to be able to join in and do my part.

Now for the details:

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1000 worth, to be exact. The winner will receive a complementary photo session, the high resolution digital negative for every image in their gallery, a complete set of 4X6’s, and a 16X24 canvas .  It’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a complementary session and $100 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

I was so excited to meet my new nephew Sawyer today, what a little cutie!!  Here are a couple of my favorites although I’ll be posting more in the next few days :)

I don’t usually make the cut in any posted photos here on my blog but I was VERY motivated this time though to post one :)

Two really great photographers in Alberta are holding a 3 week online mentoring session in January.  They are having a contest for one of the spots and the only requirement to enter is to take a self portrait with your favorite guilty pleasure.

While I have many :)  for me spending $8 for a coffee and treat is the guiltiest!! :)  OK it’s not just any coffee it’s a cinnamon dolce latte with not just any treat but a cranberry bliss bar, Mmmmmmm.  So good.

Taking a self portrait is very hard, but trying not to eat the whole bar before getting a good in focus shot was even harder~ hence no treat in my final photo :)

Wish me luck!! :)  Though there are already some awesome entries and one in particular that made me laugh out loud!!

After deciding not to venture out on the roads and head to Kamloops~ we went for a lovely snowy walk then came back for hot chocolate.

What a great day~ sunny out~ new Christmas music to listen too~ and I’m heading out to get the ingredients for a hot buttered rum to drink while we decorate the tree tonight :)

plus I though it was hilarious when Dawson fell into the toy box, he as you can see did not find it quite as funny :)
